The newest attraction in Pigeon Forge, The Island is home to some of the most fun and exciting things to do in the Smoky Mountains. Whether you and your family want to spend the day riding the giant ferris wheel, or want to test your skills inside the spacious arcade, there is truly something every member will enjoy at The Island in Pigeon Forge.
The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel
The centerpiece of The Island in Pigeon Forge, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is a 200-foot tall all-inclosed ferris wheel that takes guests on a rotating scenic tour of the Smoky Mountains. You and your family can choose to ride in one of the standard gondolas that hold up to 6 adult riders, or you can upgrade to the exclusive VIP gondola with red leather seats that holds up to 4 adult riders.
Adult tickets to one of the standard gondolas is $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, $9 for children ages 3-11, and free for children ages 2 and under. VIP rides are $50 per person. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel opens at 10 a.m. daily.
At night guests will be impressed by the stunning LED-Light show the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel puts on. Seen from miles around, the millions of twinkling lights on the wheel dance through the night air, creating a majestic sight for visitors.
Arcade City
Filled will all the popular arcade games, Arcade City is the perfect place for you and your kids to spend some time on your next Smoky Mountain vacation. Whether you are trying to warm up from the winter chill, or need a place to cool off during the summer months, families deciding to pass the time at Arcade will not be disappointed. After your kids have had their fill of playing all the exciting games, they can cash them in at the arcade’s redemption center for a new stuffed toy, handful of candy, or even a new game system depending on their earnings. Game play is card based, and can be saved for return visits to the Pigeon Forge attraction.
Water Fountain
Debuting on New Year’s Eve, the $3 million dollar Las Vegas-style water fountain is sure to impress all who visit the Island. Along with synchronized water shows, the fountain will also light up the night with an impressive night show.
Thunderdome Bungee
Perfect for kids that need to get a little energy out, the Thunderdome Bungee offers guests three full-sized bungee platforms that work like trampolines that will take your kids high into the air with smiles on their faces. Don’t worry mom, a knowledgeable staff are readily on hand at the Thunderdome to both make sure that kids are safely strapped into the harness, as well as have both fun and safe bungee experience.
Live Music
Another perk for families visiting The Island at night is the extensive live band sets the Pigeon Forge attraction hosts during the warmer months. Parking
Parking at The Island is free. To access the parking lot, simply turn onto Island Drive off the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Visitors can either walk to the outdoor attraction, or they can take a ride on the Pigeon Forge Trolley to the entrance of The Island.
