4 Ways to Enjoy the Fall Season at Our Wears Valley Cabin Rentals
Wears Valley is known as one of the most scenic spots in the Smoky Mountains, and this is especially true in the fall! To help you make the most of your vacation, we’ve put together five tips for enjoying autumn when you stay at our cabin rentals in Wears Valley TN:
1. Enjoy Scenic Fall Drives
Wears Valley has several roads where you can take incredibly scenic fall drives through the mountains.
Little River Road, which runs from Townsend to Gatlinburg, provides some great views of the river and various waterfalls.
The Cades Cove Loop Road, which passes through old cabins, churches, and homesteads from the 19th century, is another road close to Wears Valley that should not be missed.
When you take Wears Valley Road, which borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you’ll have a choice of many restaurants and shops where you can stop along the way.
One of the best ways to fully appreciate fall in the Smokies is to do some hiking. Wears Valley has many excellent trails, whether you’re looking for a short and easy hike or a longer and more challenging one.
If you only want to hike for about a mile, but still want to see some gorgeous fall scenery, a good choice is Metcalf Bottoms, a short trail that begins at a scenic picnic area. Another easy hike is Laurel Falls, a 2.3 mile trail that takes you to one of the area’s most beautiful waterfalls.

3. Dine at a Local Restaurant
There are a number of excellent restaurants that are just a short drive from our vacation rentals in Wears Valley TN. Geppetto’s is one of the finest Italian restaurants in the area, with a menu that includes pizza, pasta, subs, chicken parmesan, and lots more. If you are a fan of farm to table cuisine, you don’t want to miss Elvira’s Cafe , which specializes in turning local ingredients into delicious gourmet dishes. When you’re in the mood for barbecue, stop by Bootleggers BBQ on Wears Valley Road, which has tempting dishes, such as chicken tenders, pulled pork, and slow cooked ribs.
