Fall in the Smoky Mountains is in full swing! The leaves in the higher elevations have begun to change colors, today marks the official 2014 fall equinox, and the 2014 National Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration at Dollywood has officially started.
If you have never been to this exciting event at Pigeon Forge’s favorite theme park, you and your family are in for you a real treat. This year’s fall festival at Dollywood will be bigger and better than ever before with an entire extra month of entertainment!
From September 22 to November 1, Southern gospel artists from all across the country will gather together at Dollywood to celebrate fall in the Smoky Mountains. Last year’s festival did not begin until October 1.

Over 350 Free Concerts
That’s right, the 2014 National Southern Gospel & Harvest Festival at Dollywood will host an impressive number of concerts this season. The entertainers at this shows are well-known names from all across the country, including The Perrys, The Crist Family, Guy Penrod, and many more!
Ticket prices to all the concerts included with the 2014 National Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration at Dollywood are included with the cost of admission to the Pigeon Forge amusement park. Therefore, there is no additional cost to enjoy the musical stylings of any of these talented artists.

Impressive Craft Demonstrations
Music is not the only live entertainment that visitors to Dollywood’s fall festival will find. On top of the hundreds of concerts, there are also live craft demonstrations from several talented Smoky Mountain artisans. An example of the artists and crafters that will be present include:

-Hand-painted ornaments
-Pottery
-Stained glass

Amazing Fall Decorations
In true Dollywood style, the Pigeon Forge attraction has gone all out in decorating every corner of their park with fall-themed decorations. From pumpkins to scarecrows to fall leaves, guests will feel as if they have entered a fall wonderland as soon as they walk through the gates at Dollywood this season. What makes these decorations even better is that they are the perfect backdrop for your family’s Christmas card photo this year!
Delicious Fall Menus
In addition to all the festive decorations found throughout the Pigeon Forge amusement park during Dollywood’s fall festival, the many restaurants found there will also feature many fall favorites on their menu. Mouthwatering apple stack cakes and fried green tomatoes are just an example of what Dollywood is cooking up this fall for the 2014 Southern Gospel & Harvest Festival.
Updated Dollywood Hours
With all the fun and excitement going on at the Pigeon Forge amusement park this season, the performers do need to take one day a week to rest. Because of this, Dollywood will be closed on Thursdays throughout the festival. However, guests shouldn’t be discouraged because the fun will be at its peak Friday-Wednesday!
