Anakeesta in Gatlinburg opened in 2017, creating a place where families could go to play together and enjoy mountain views, as well as delicious food! Once again, Anakeesta is expanding to better accommodate guests and provide an even better experience in the Smoky Mountains! Here’s everything you need to know about Anakeesta in Gatlinburg expanding:
More Food and Drinks
If you’ve eaten at one of the food trucks or restaurants at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg, you know how delicious it is! You’ll be glad to know more food and drink options are coming to Anakeesta in the summer of 2020! At Smokehouse BBQ and Brewhouse, you will be able to enjoy delicious southern barbeque, from pulled pork to baby back ribs, as well as all the delicious sides you love. Pair your meal with your favorite alcoholic drink, and you’ve got the perfect meal! Smokehouse BBQ and Brewhouse will have a dining area that is enclosed, as well as an outdoor patio so you can enjoy the mountain views while you eat. It will be able to accommodate over 200 guests.
Cool Off in the Summer
Summers in the Smokies can get really hot, so Anakeesta in Gatlinburg wanted to provide a way for families to cool off. They are building an outdoor play area that includes wading streams and a cascading waterfall where kids can play and adults can relax. Live music will be played in this area, as well as more spots where you can sit and relax around a fire pit.
360-Degree Mountain Views
Opening around the same time as the restaurant is an observation tower, providing you with incredible mountain views! This observation tower will be at the top of the hill in the Vista Gardens. It will be constructed of wood and steel to create a natural feel. This tower will stand 55 feet above the Vista Gardens and 655 feet above downtown Gatlinburg, giving you a view you won’t find anywhere else!

Chair Lift and Ridge Rambler
To get to the top of Anakeesta, you can choose between riding the chair lift, which has a couple of chondolas for guests with wheelchairs or strollers, or riding the Ridge Rambler. The chair lift is exciting as it takes you to the top of the mountain, and you can ride it down to the bottom when you’re ready to leave. Ridge Ramblers take you on a scenic tour that lasts about 20 minutes while you’re making your way to the top.
Play in Anakeesta
Do you love adventure? Then you should go on the Dueling Ziplines! Race your friends to the bottom of the mountain and enjoy your ride down. Anakeesta also has a mountain coaster where you control the speed of the car. Little kids will have a blast playing on the playground, and everything will want to walk along the Treetop Skywalk.
Eat in Anakeesta
If you’re looking for a great place to eat with incredible views, you should stop at the Cliff Top Bar and Grill. You’ll find all kinds of delicious comfort foods, from burgers to mac and cheese. Want a sweet treat? Try one of the pastries from Beavertails. If you just want a drink, stop by The Bar at the Top of the World where you’ll find all kinds of drinks.
Relax and Unwind
Want to just take it easy and relax? Anakeesta in Gatlinburg is just the place for relaxing and unwinding from everyday life! The Vista Gardens are full of native plants and colorful flowers that attract butterflies and bees. It’s a great place to walk and take your mind off of everything. Anakeesta in Gatlinburg puts on all kinds of exciting events. During Halloween, experience the Legend of Hollow Mountain where things get spooky after dark. In the fall, there are a ton of decorations. When winter comes around, Anakeesta turns into a winter wonderland with a ton of decorations and lights. You might even get to meet Santa Claus!
