The coming of fall means crisp weather, beautiful foliage, and football on TV! When you vacation in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN, you’ll want to keep up with your favorite NFL and college teams. Fortunately, our Smoky Mountain cities are home to a number of great sports bars and restaurants where you can catch the big game. To help you make the most of your next vacation, Hearthside Cabin Rentals has put together a guide to finding the best place to watch football in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
The Smoky Mountain Brewery has everything you need to enjoy an afternoon of football and fun. This awesome brewpub has numerous TVs tuned to football and a lively atmosphere that is great for fans, friends, and families. The Brewery is famous for its excellent selection of craft beer, which runs the gamut from brown and amber ales to light lagers. With pizza, chicken wings, and burgers on the menu, the mouthwatering food at the Smoky Mountain Brewery is full of game time classics. The SMB boasts locations in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
If the Smoky Mountain Brewery is too busy on game day, we recommend heading over to Calhoun’s . The SMB and Calhoun’s are owned by the same parent company, so there are Calhoun’s restaurants within walking distance of both the Gatlinburg Brewery and Pigeon Forge Brewery. Calhoun’s is best known as a sit-down BBQ restaurant, but it also has a great bar area with a handful of TVs and the same craft beer that is brewed at the SMB. All of the food at Calhoun’s is fantastic, but their perfectly seasoned slow-smoked meats are definitely a highlight.
Puckers Sports Grill has been a favorite football haunt in the Smokies since it opened in 1999. Located right on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg, Puckers has several TVs and a menu that is loaded with topnotch food. Standout dishes include the pork rinds, potato skins, flatbreads, Philly cheesesteak, and jumbo wings.
A self-described “family sports grill,” Blue Moose Burgers and Wings is a wonderful place to catch the big game in Pigeon Forge. As you probably guessed by the restaurant’s name, this eatery has built a loyal following for its delicious half-pound cheeseburgers and incredible chicken wings (which come in 16 different flavors). Be sure to save room for dessert, because Blue Moose’s Mile High Peanut Butter Fudge Pie is not to be missed!
Whether you sit at the bar or at a table, the Timberwood Grill is a great spot to enjoy some football. Situated at The Island in Pigeon Forge, this superb restaurant offers a fun mountain-themed atmosphere. Popular menu items at the Timberwood Grill include the bison burger, fried bologna sandwich, corn dodgers, chicken tenders, and the fish ‘n chips plate.
