Calling all Sugar Plum Fairies and Great Mouse Kings! The iconic tale of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince is returning to the Smokies for another magical year. Hosted by the Great Smoky Mountain Dance Theater in Gatlinburg, this iconic tale, set to the music of famed composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, tells the story of a little girl whose favorite Christmas toy comes to life and takes her on an exciting adventure.
Showcasing the talents of students from all across East Tennessee, this show is sure to be a memorable event for all who attend. It won’t take long for audience members to forget the young age of these performers, and begin to think they are professional actors that have been in the business for years!
Lead by artistic director Elizabeth Williams, the seventh annual Nutcracker Sweet will be held at the W.L ills Conference Center at 920 Parkway in Gatlinburg on November 26 and 27. Showtimes begin at 7 p.m. each night, and tickets may be purchased in advance by calling (865) 680-7369. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
